Brayden Turns Four

Our little man turned four years old on July 28!  It is so hard to believe that he is four.  He is growing up so fast.  This year he was counting down till his birthday.  When he woke up, the first thing that he wanted to do was open presents.  Since his bug birthday party was that afternoon, we told him that he could open one present and then open the rest later that evening.  

Tanner wanted to help Brayden open his present.  His first present was some figures from his favorite TV show Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  He immediately took them out and started playing.


Brayden had a terrific time at his bug birthday party.  After his friends left, it was time for more celebrating.  His birthday party was really for him and his sister, so we made sure the rest of the day was all about Brayden!  We opened some of his birthday presents and took some time playing with his toys.  For his special birthday dinner, we let Brayden choose the restaurant.  He choose his favorite restaurant PassionFish.  We seem to go to PassionFish for most special events.  Grandma White, Papa, Grandma Schlegel, Aunt Jeanne, and Uncle Ron joined us for dinner.  After dinner, we came back home to open more presents.   

Brayden got a bunch of fun new toys.  Some of his favorite presents were a set of play tools, a big castle, and Bucky the ship from Jake and the Neverland Pirates.



The present that he loved the most was an actual arcade that Jon built for him!  Jon spent over a month building an arcade for Brayden and Taylor.  He picked out the artwork, built the cabinet, wired the buttons, and programmed all the games!  The arcade can play almost every game, from all the different game systems since Jon and I were kids.

So far some of Brayden's favorite games are Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Super Mario, Super Mario Three, and Zelda.  

We took Brayden in for his four year old checkup.  He was a perfectly healthy four year old!  His height was 38 3/4 inches and his weight was 33 pounds.  I can't believe one more year until he turns five and starts kindergarten.  He is growing into quite an independent little boy.  He has his own ideas about what he wants to do and how he feels about things.  He still loves everything that has to do with nature.  Brayden loves being out in the woods exploring.  He really likes pirates at the moment.  He likes to go on pretend treasure hunts and hunt for gold doubloons.  Brayden's favorite books are his big Disney Treasury books with all the old Disney stories and fairy tales.  His favorite food is pizza and his favorite snack is sour cream crunchies.
