Montgomery County Fair

Every year we take the kids up to the Montgomery County Fair.  The fair has a huge section dedicated to farm animals.  Our first stop at the fair was the pony rides.  Brayden did a great job riding and spent the whole time talking to the boy leading his pony.

We went in all the different barns to visit the pigs, sheep, cows, chickens, goats, and bunnies.  Brayden loved running around the barns finding animals that were close enough to the gate to pet.

The only ones he didn't want to pet were the chickens.  We always tell him that you can get salmonella from chickens.  He made sure to tell us not to pet the chickens, because you could get 'salt vanilla' as he calls it.

Taylor has always loved looking at farm animals from far away, but has no interest in actually touching them.   She did, however, really find the bunnies interesting and tried to stick her little fingers in several bunny cages.

The highlight of the fair was getting to watch the pig racing!  Brayden was super excited and really wanted to see the races.  Unfortunately everyone else had the same idea and it was really crowded.  Jon got the father of the year award and put Brayden up on his shoulders for the whole event.  They not only saw pigs race, but also ducks and goats.

Taylor and I were too short to see much, so we kicked back in the shade relaxing and people watching.
