California Trip Part 3

One of my favorite places to visit in San Francisco is the zoo.  I was very excited to take the kids to the zoo and knew they would love all the animals.  The zoo has a wonderful layout and a ton of opportunities to see animals up close.  The giraffes and the grizzly bears were big hits with the kids.

The grizzly bears kept walking right by the glass.  Taylor would get all excited and put her hands up on the glass when the big bears walked by her.

Taylor had a great time walking around the zoo and pointing at all the animals.  She really liked the anteater and tried to hold on to the fence when it was time to go see another animal.

Both kids really enjoyed the little kid area of the zoo.  There was a petting zoo area where the kids could pet goats and sheep.  They could also pretend they were cowboys!

The big news of the day was that Taylor was not scared of the goats and actually touched several goats!  When Taylor had seen animals at the local zoo or the farm, she would smile at them from a distance, but get very upset if she was too close.  I was thrilled that she was wanted to pet the animals!  Brayden has always been an animal lover and immediately jumped in and petted all the animals he could reach.  He did a great job telling Taylor that the animals were friendly and showing her how to pet them.

Brayden found a fun area that had tunnels and caves for the kids to climb in and pretend they were prairie dogs!

We all had a great visit to the zoo.  I really wish the National Zoo could be more like the San Francisco Zoo.
