Christmas Trees

The first Saturday in December, we went on the hunt for the perfect Christmas trees!  We actually had our giant 14 foot tree delivered this year, because it had been difficult to find one last year.  The truck came early Saturday to drop off and set up the tree.  It was gorgeous!  We were all very happy that the tree had a great shape and was very full.  I was having nightmares that they were going to drop off a little Charlie Brown Christmas tree.

Once the big tree was set up, we headed to the Christmas tree lot for our medium tree, small tree, and Grandma and Papa's tree.  The kids loved searching through the tree lot.  Brayden was taking his job very seriously and checking out all the trees.  When we found the perfect medium tree he didn't want to let go of it!  I tried to have him come look at a little tree, but he was holding on to the medium tree and telling us someone might take it.  After the tree was secure with a tree lot worker, he helped us look for the little tree.

Taylor liked running around between the trees searching for Brayden as he went from tree to tree.

We found a really cute short plump tree to put in our kitchen.

After the tree lot, we headed to Grandma and Papa's to help them set up their tree.  Brayden and Taylor really wanted to help Daddy and Papa trim and carry in the tree, but they had to settle for watching from behind the gate.  Once the tree was up, we headed back to our house to set up our trees.  Brayden was a big helper this year and helped Daddy and Papa set up and carry in the little tree!

Since we have so many trees, it takes us two days to get them up and decorated.  The first day was set up and lights.  The second day we put up ornaments.  The kids were so excited to start decorating Sunday morning, that I had to let them put up a few ornaments before breakfast.

Brayden loved putting the ornaments on the trees.  he didn't want any help.  I would give him a big bag of unbreakable ornaments and he would go off and hang them up.  This year he was really good about not putting all the ornaments on one branch.  He does still need some work on putting them high on the tree though.  A whole bunch of ornaments ended up on the very bottom branches.

Taylor wasn't too sure about the whole decorating thing.  She liked holding the ornaments, but she didn't ever want to actually put them on the tree.  We had several new Disney princess ornaments for Taylor to put on the tree.  As soon as she put the princesses on the tree she would grab them back real fast.  When we eventually got them on the tree, we had to make sure they were high enough up that she couldn't grab them back down.  She loved walking around the trees pointing up at all the princesses.

All three of our trees looked beautiful!  They were all perfect shaped and lasted great through the holiday season.
