The exhibit was fantastic and well worth the long wait. This year the train room was decorated with fairy houses, trolls, and castles. Brayden has always loved fantasy things, so this was prefect for him. Taylor loves anything with fairies making this perfect for her. She loved pointing up at all the little fairies.
This year they added some great little cubby holes for the kids to peek inside. The little holes showed the kids the inside of the fairy houses. There were all these little tiny details making it look very realistic.
Taylor loved that the holes were right at her height, so she could look at them without any help.
There were a bunch of trains that ran through all the fairy dwellings. Brayden was happy to spot Thomas and Percy from his train set. The ladybug train was also a big hit with both kids.
After we saw the train display, we walked around the rest of the garden center. Each year they have all the famous building from D.C. recreated out of organic materials.
When we left the gardens, we walked across the street to see the Capitol Christmas Tree. The kids had fun running around the grass and stopped briefly to look up at the tree. Taylor is so independent now! She just wanders off to see things or chase her brother. It is adorable watching a little sixteen month old walk all around like she can conquer the world.
It wasn't quite dark enough yet to head to the other trees, so we went to our usual D.C. Starbucks for a treat. Brayden polished off two cake pops and Taylor made quick work of Grandma's scone.
