The new trail was really well done. We were lucky and arrived at the beaver feeding time. Taylor loved pointing to all the animals she saw. Since it was such a nice day out, most of the animals at the zoo were outside where the kids could see them.
The kids really enjoyed the new sea lion area. They liked watching the sea lions, but they loved climbing around on the stone theater seating area in front of the sea lions. Taylor had no fear and climbed up all the big steps trying to get to Brayden.
The reptile house was a big hit with both kids. Brayden was great at spotting the animals in all the exhibits.
A few days before our zoo trip was Taylor's 15 month well check-up. She checked out perfect! Her height was 30 3/4 inches (50-75%) and her weight was 24 lbs (75-90%). She was very shy with the doctor and did not want to smile. She gave him her best stare down as he examined her. It is always amusing seeing her be so shy around new people, because at home she is constantly bubbly and smiling. She has the best giggle and we all love finding ways to make her laugh. She is still pretty quiet when it comes to talking, but she understand everything we say and makes her wishes very clear. If you don't understand what she wants, she will take your hand and walk you over to what she wants. She is also quite good at pointing to what she wants. Hopefully she will start talking soon, because we all can't wait to hear what she has to say!
